April Anselona

April Anselona has developed an accomplished career at the intersection of fine art, fashion illustration, and contemporary design. Her work is instantly recognizable for its expressive line work and elegant compositions that celebrate individuality, and timeless beauty.

April coined the term Fashion Fusion to describe her signature style; a distinctive blend of fashion illustration, pop art, and contemporary fine art. Rooted in simplified drawing, her vintage work embraces the philosophy that less definition often creates greater impact. Rather than relying on rigid realism, she captures the essence of her subjects through fluid lines and expressive composition.

Drawing inspiration from Impressionism, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Andy Warhol, and Salvador Dali, while embracing the enduring glamour of pin-up culture from the 1920s through the mid-century, April has cultivated a distinctive aesthetic that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably modern. Seamlessly blending vintage elegance with contemporary design, her work reflects a lifelong passion for fashion and visual storytelling. Whether working in watercolor, acrylic, oils, gouache, mixed media, or digital illustration, each collection reflects her passion for celebrating life's beauty through art.

Fashion has always remained at the heart of April's creative vision. Throughout her career, her work has earned recognition from internationally renowned fashion designers including Christian Lacroix and has been featured in numerous national publications, including Women's Wear Daily, Season Fashion Magazine, L'Art de Vivre, the Sun Sentinel, and Beckett Publications, where she received an Honorable Mention. Her artwork was also featured in the 2006 edition of Marilyn In Art.

Beyond the gallery, April's creative career has extended into fashion, entertainment, and commercial design. She has provided artistic direction for film, music videos, editorial publications, and commercial photography. Her passion for bringing art beyond the canvas has led her to designing custom painted jackets for legendary rock bands and collaborations with retailers, creating limited-edition collections of hand-painted glassware and wearable artwork that transform everyday objects into functional collector pieces.

April's artwork is represented in permanent and public collections throughout the United States and internationally, including the National Museum of Women in the Arts Archives in Washington, D.C.; The White House; the Presidential Library in Texas; the International Museum of Cultures in Dallas; the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum; the City of Tamarac Government Building; the Palace of King Juan Carlos of Spain; and the Pentagon.

Working from her South Florida studio, April continues to create artwork that reflects the philosophy that has defined her career: simplicity is powerful, style is timeless, and art should leave a lasting impression.

Whether exploring vintage femininity, contemporary culture, or expressive portraiture, each piece is crafted to become a lasting work of art for collectors who value originality and enduring design.
